      Osteopathy and healing massage

Osteopathy is a system of manual treatment concerned with the inter-relationship between the structure of the body and the way in which it functions. It is therefore an appropriate form of therapy for many problems affecting the neuro-muscular-skeletal systems.

Osteopaths detect and treat damaged parts of the body such as muscles, ligaments, nerves and joints. When the body is balanced and efficient it will function with the minimum of wear and tear, leaving more energy for living.

Conditions which osteopaths can help include:

      • back pain
      • arthritic pain
      • period pain
      • repetitive strain injury
      • shoulder and neck pains including frozen shoulder
      • sleeping difficulties
      • neuralgia and sinus pain
      • teeth grinding
      • irritable bowel syndrome
      • sciatica
      • mobility problems
      • sports injury
      • postural problems caused by pregnancy, driving or work strain
      • joint pain, muscular aches, pains and strains
      • tennis elbow
      • asthma and respiratory problems
      • colic and sleeplessness in babies

In the UK the title "osteopath" became protected by law from 9 May 2000. As a result it is a criminal offence, liable to prosecution, to describe oneself as an osteopath in the UK unless registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC)
